Matteo Cairoli will be at the start of the FIA GT World Cup for the very first time, which is a very prestigious event in the Gran Turismo racing world, underway at the Guia Circuit in Macau between November 17 and November 19. The event is a part of the iconic Macau Grand Prix at its 70th edition this year, which sees the most competitive drivers in the world involved in a race that is more than unique in its genre. The driver from Como will take part in the FIA GT World Cup with the Porsche 992 of Absolute Racing, a team that he already knows as he raced with them this season in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia.
Therefore, Cairoli will be at the starting line of one of the most prestigious races in the Gran Turismo world, where he will challenge some of the best drivers around the globe. The official entry list for the race, which currently has as many as 20 drivers in it, sees Matteo Cairoli as the only Italian representative. Even if he will be at its debut edition, Matteo has trained at the simulator enough to be prepared for such an insidious track as the one built in the Guia streets. The event will see a 12-lap qualification race underway on Saturday, November 18, while the schedule for Sunday, November 19, will see the main race of 16 laps. The event will be live streamed in Italy on MS Motor TV, channel 229 on Sky, which has already streamed Cairoli’s exploits in the ALMS and ELMS 2023 seasons.

“I’m really glad to have the opportunity to participate for the first time in the FIA GT World Cup in Macau. The Guia Circuit is spectacular and has a five-star reputation in the motorsport world, so I know that it will be a very challenging one. The starting grid is full of drivers of the highest level, and to have the chance to race against them makes me really proud. I want to thank Absolute Racing, as they gave me such an incredible opportunity. I will try my best as always to bring home the most important result. I know I can do it.
